Travelling to ケイマン諸島: what to know before you go

The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory of three low, coral-fringed islands in the western Caribbean: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. They are known for calm turquoise water, some of the Caribbean's best diving and snorkelling, and a polished, well-organised feel. They suit beach lovers, divers and families looking for an easy, English-speaking island break.

Where to go

• Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman. A long, public stretch of soft white sand on Grand Cayman's west coast, with calm, clear water for swimming and snorkelling.
• Stingray City and the Sandbar. In the shallow North Sound, boats stop at a sandbar where southern stingrays gather in waist-deep water, a habit that began when fishermen cleaned their catch there.
• Little Cayman and Bloody Bay Wall. The smallest island is quiet, with more iguanas than cars on some roads.
• Cayman Brac's bluff. Cayman Brac is named after the limestone bluff, or 'brac', that runs along the island and rises steeply at its eastern end.

Best time to visit

December to April is the dry season, with sunshine, lower humidity and calm seas, and it is also the busiest and most expensive period. May and early June can be pleasant and quieter.

Mobile coverage is good across Grand Cayman, and generally available on Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, though signal can be weaker in remote spots and out at sea on dive and snorkel trips.
